Named either after Sefton in Lancashire or, perhaps more likely, after one of the holders of the title Earl of Sefton. See also Altcar Court.
Sefton Park and Sefton Drive are not the only streets in this area with a connection to Liverpool and Merseyside. There is also Aigburth Park nearby, apparently named after another suburb of Liverpool. All these names were given in the 1930s.
