McConnell was a son of Sir Joseph McConnell] Rodney Drive is listed for the first time in 1933 Belfast and Ulster Street Directory. The entry includes addresses from 1-49 and 2 to 50. "On the recommendation of the City Surveyor, the Committee approved of a new street off Donegall Road being named Rodney Crescent for Ideal Cleaning, Ltd". (IC, 9th September 1947). This name no longer exists.
