"Resolved - That the name Parkmount Gardens be approved for a new street on the property of Messrs. H. & J. Martin Ltd., situated off Donegall Park Avenue". (24 May 1932).

On the recommendation of the City Surveyor, the Committee approved of the street names recommended by the Estates Committee on 25th March last in respect to Edenvale and Parkmount Estates as follows: Edenvale: Edenvale Crescent, Edenvale Park, Edenvale Gardens. Parkmount: - Parkmount Parade, Parkmount Terrace, Parkmount Place, Parkmount Lane, Parkmount Way, Parkmount Pass, Parkmount Gardens (continuation of) Innisfayle Pass, Innisfayle Gardens (continuation of). "Hugh Cairns was the first owner of the adjoining demesne of Parkmount, which he acquired in 1796. He died in 1808, and soon after Parkmount was advertised for sale". Benn's History of Belfast.
