The minutes of the Town Improvement Committee of Belfast Corporation on 23 October 1895 indicate the naming of six new streets off Crumlin Road: Columba (in fact it is Columbia), Rosebank Street, Ohio Street, Oregon Street, Ottawa Street and Montreal Street. Oregon Gardens – Orkan Gairdens. This is an example of a straight sign in English and Ulster Scots.
