The earliest public reference to Oakley Street appears to be in the Belfast Telegraph - Wednesday 18 June 1902 giving a list of school attendance prosecutions where a list of parents were named owing to their children not attending school regularly. John Kane of 44 Oakley Street, Ligoniel was listed.
Oakley Street (off Crumlin Road, Ballysillan) features in the 1902 (BPUD). It is not listed in the 1901 (BPUD).
A surmise that the owner of the property around Ligoniel may also have been involved with Oakley Park outside Downpatrick.
