Naroon is likely to represent a shortened form of Lough Naroon. This name occurs twice in the parish of Glenties, Co. Donegal, and also in the parish of Kilconway, Co. Antrim. However, given that there is a Donegal theme in this area, it seems more likely to derive from one of the Donegal instances (placenamesNI.org).
