Knockdene Park features in the The Belfast And Province Of Ulster Directory 1895. It takes part of its name from being in the Knock area and close to Knock Road.
There is a blue plaque erected by the Ulster History Circle to commemorate artist Joseph William Carey (1859-1937) at no. 31, Knockdene Park. He was commissioned to paint 13 scenes from Belfast history for the Ulster Hall, where they are still on display.
