Gaoth Dobhair, anglicised as Gweedore, is a Gaeltacht district on the western flanks of the Derryveagh Mountains in Co. Donegal. It is one of a number of Donegal locations that features in the names of the streets of the Lenadoon neighbourhood off Suffolk Road and Glen Road.
Gaoth is a masculine noun referring to a channel of water, usually in a sea-inlet, and is mainly known from place-names. It is a homonym of gaoth meaning 'wind', which is a feminine noun.
