Chambers Street ran from Donegall Pass to Posnett Street. It was in existence by May 1868, when a death notice described an address there as “Chambers Street, off Donegall Pass, Belfast.” The origin of the street name has not yet been established. William John Chambers later operated a prominent cycle and motorcycle business on Donegall Pass, but no evidence has been found that the street was named after his family.
