Castle Gardens in North Belfast takes its name from its proximity to Belfast Castle which was built in 1870. Resolved - That the names ‘Castle Gardens’ and ‘Olympia Parade’ be approved for new streets off Donegall Park Avenue and Tate’s Avenue respectively, on the property of Messrs. H. and J. Martin, Ltd. (IC, 12th January 1937). “On the recommendation of the city surveyor, the committee approved of the following street names submitted by the estate Superintendent for streets off Donegal Park Ave: Waveney Ave, Waveney Park, Waveney Drive, Waveney Grove, Fairhill Park, Fairhill Way.
