The name Boucher Road was accepted by the Improvement Committee of Belfast Corporation on 22 April 1969. The road is a continuation of Glenmachan Street at Adelaide Industrial Estate. According to the minutes the road was named in honour of the chairman of the committee: Alderman Boucher who represented the Woodvale Area of the City. He was first elected on 18th May 1955 and last elected on 17th May 1967. William Boucher died on 6th November 1969.
